Eisch Glassmaker Tradition

Research shows that glassmaking tradition in the Eisch family dates back over 300 years to Mathias Alesch, who was born in 1689 in the Bohemian Forest of Germany.

Erwin Eisch is still known as the modern day pioneer and spiritual father of the studio glass movement in Europe.

Erwin Eisch's freely blown glass series called "Poetry in glass" was created in 1977: Collector's items in flowing shapes, that were designed into many-coloured objects with the most varied furnace and cold glass techniques.

Todays third generation of the family controls the Eisch glass factory. Since January 1993, the responsibility for the Eisch glass factory has rested with Julia Eichinger-Eisch and Eberhard Eisch.

For the Eisch family, life and glass are inseparably linked to nature. Erwin Eisch's glass art is poetic, pictorial, plastic, and bizarre. He gave wings to the fantasy of glass artists and painters, and made the "Poetry in Glass" series a world-wide success: Artistic metamorphoses that gained worldwide fame.
